MJS Construction has been a contractor at Birmingham Airport for a number of years. As well as general repairs and construction they have provided emergency call out for urgent repairs to essential infrastructure including the runway and taxiways. Their expertise in rapid concrete pavement reconstruction has been invaluable to the airport. MJS annually carry out concrete bay replacement during short duration runway closures overnight. During the maximum 7 hour window they are able to remove defective pavement bays, replace them with PQX concrete and achieve pavement strength suitable for trafficking by aircraft. The organisation, flexibility and expertise to replace aircraft class pavement in such a short period is both rare and invaluable to a busy international gateway like Birmingham. MJS are a key part of our pavement maintenance programme.
